Weaving workshop in Turin - Basic techniques

On this day I will teach you the basic techniques of contemporary weaving.

In the morning you will learn how to warp a frame loom, weave horizontally and diagonally, creating simple but effective patterns, as well as the technique for making rya knot fringes. You will create a tapestry from scratch that you will take home at the end of the workshop.

The afternoon will be dedicated to perfecting the techniques learned in the morning and delving deeper into geometric shapes.

You will work on a larger loom, learn how to use a shuttle, weave advanced geometric and organic shapes such as circles using a preparatory cardboard, as well as the technique for making braids with the soumak stitch.

All materials for the activity are included.

The course is suitable for adults and children from 8 years of age. No prior weaving experience is required.
