3-day Rug weaving + Warping Workshop

WARP AN UPRIGHT LOOM AND WEAVE YOUR RUG OR TAPESTRY

During the three-day weaving workshop in Turin you will learn how to warp an upright loom, determining the density of your warp, and weave a personalized rug or tapestry using Sardinian wool.

The course is suitable even for absolute beginners: I will guide you through the technical and creative process, and by the end of the workshop, you will leave with a finished textile artwork measuring up to 50 x 75cm.

I can teach the workshop in Italian, English and French.

The workshop takes place at my studio in Turin, at Via Belfiore 39/c, in the San Salvario neighborhood.

During the 20-hour intensive course, spread over three days, you will learn to warp Emilio, my vertical loom and master the tension and density of the warp.

You will work with cotton warp and Sardinian wool weft, and learn the fundamental principles of weaving large format rugs and tapestries. During the workshop, you will weave a personalized textile artwork that can measure up to 50 x 75 cm.

At the end of the workshop, you will leave with your finished piece.

To help you plan your project, upon registration I will send you a preparatory document with useful information regarding the complexity level of the design, design ideas based on my work, possible number of shapes and colors, etc.

If you wish to continue weaving after the course, you can purchase the Emilio loom at a discounted price. The loom will be disassembled and boxed (packaging 130 x 10 x 10 cm) to be easily transported by car or public transportation.

The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who already know how to weave and want to experiment with warping and weaving tapestries and rugs on a vertical loom.
